2. Description of Service

pdfapihub provides PDF manipulation APIs that allow you to:

• Merge multiple PDF documents
• Split PDF documents into separate files
• Extract specific pages from PDF documents
• Process PDFs from URLs or file uploads

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with or without notice.

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service
• One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one account without authorization
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys

3.2 API Keys

• You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure and confidential
• Do not share your API keys publicly or with unauthorized parties
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs using your API keys
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account or API keys

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in any fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Process illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Transmit malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service for competitive analysis or benchmarking
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Process personal data in violation of privacy laws
• Engage in any activity that could harm or overload our infrastructure

4.2 Rate Limits and Usage

• You must comply with the rate limits and usage restrictions of your plan
• Excessive API usage may result in throttling or account suspension
• You may not use the Service to circumvent usage limits

4.3 Content Responsibility

• You are solely responsible for the content of PDFs you process
• You must have the right to process and manipulate any PDFs you submit
• You must comply with all applicable copyright and intellectual property laws
• We do not claim ownership of your content and will not access it except as necessary to provide the Service

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

5.1 Plans and Pricing

• Pricing for each plan is displayed on our Pricing page
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice
• Existing subscribers will be grandfathered at their current rate for at least one billing cycle

5.2 Payment Terms

• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law

5.3 Free Tier

• The free Starter plan includes a limited number of API calls per month
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time
• Free tier accounts may be subject to additional restrictions

5.4 Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or Stripe portal
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
• You will retain access to paid features until the end of the billing period
• No refunds are provided for partial months or unused API calls
• Refunds for annual plans may be prorated at our discretion

5.5 Overages

If you exceed your plan's API call limit, your requests may be throttled or rejected. You may need to upgrade to a higher tier or wait until your limit resets.

6. Data and Privacy

6.1 Data Processing

• PDF files are processed in memory and deleted immediately after processing
• If you request URL output, files may be stored temporarily (maximum 24 hours)
• We do not access, view, or use your PDF content for any purpose other than providing the Service
• We collect usage data and API logs for service improvement and security

6.2 Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our privacy practices.

6.3 Data Security

• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data
• All data transmission is encrypted using SSL/TLS
• We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our control

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including all software, APIs, documentation, designs, and trademarks, is owned by pdfapihub and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

You retain all rights to the PDFs and content you process through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service.

7.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, we may use them without any obligation to you.

8. Service Level and Availability

8.1 Uptime

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.

8.2 Support

• Free tier: Community support and documentation
• Paid tiers: Email support with response within 48 hours
• Enterprise: Priority support with faster response times

8.3 Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when feasible.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PDFAPIHUB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9.3 Exceptions

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
